Geveka's GRP gratings are available with various surface types, including gritted, concave, and smooth. These surfaces are all antistatic and anti-slip! Because we can add color pigments during production, all our GRP gratings can be produced and supplied in any RAL color. Our gratings can also be custom-made, reducing waste.
GRP gratings with a mild, gritted surface have a smaller, finer grain. This makes them easy to walk on with bare feet. For this reason, plastic gratings with a mild, gritted surface are often used in locations such as marinas, water sports clubs, events, and other recreational settings!
GRP gratings with an even higher anti-slip quality class are undoubtedly those with a coarse grit surface. This sanded (grit) surface is created when applied to the smoothed surface with a resin. There are then various options for finishing the surface. The slip resistance of our GRP grating is defined in anti-slip classes according to the BGR 181 and DIN 51130 standards. Our GRP grating meets anti-slip class R13 (> 35°, very high coefficient of friction).
A concave surface is created when the web of the surface curves inward during the thermosetting process. A major advantage of this GRP grating is its excellent anti-slip properties without the sand-grained surface.
A smooth-surfaced GRP grating is created after the concave surface of the grating is smoothed following the thermosetting process. Once this process is stopped, the grating acquires a very smooth surface. Smooth-surfaced gratings are suitable for walls, ceilings, and decorative purposes.
The closed-top gratings are our Standard Gratings topped with a 3mm thick Grid plate. The Solid Top gratings are ideal for creating rough surfaces with high load-bearing capacity, such as floors, corridors, walkways, gangways, and landings. Because the grating is closed, prefabricated elements cannot become stuck or fall through the mesh. The plastic gratings are reliable and have excellent wear and load-bearing properties.
