Over the years, there has been a rise in metal-replacing industrial gratings, namely: Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic (FRP) gratings. FRP gratings offer numerous advantages over traditional steel gratings.
The minimal maintenance, long lifespan, chemical resistance, and low weight of plastic gratings them ideal for various industries. These include the (new) energy industry, water treatment plants, and the (petro)chemical industry. They are also used in corrosive environments such as offshore, shipping, and the maritime sector.
However, the possibilities with GRP gratings extend far beyond this; they are also used for aesthetic or architectural reasons. Examples include the use of plastic gratings as facade cladding panels, as complete (partition) walls, or as ceilings.
